Day 1 – Arrival / Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo (20–30 minutes). Unwind with an evening lagoon boat ride surrounded by mangroves and local fishermen. End the day with a welcome seafood dinner by the water. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 02: Negombo / Dambulla / Sigiriya

Depart for the island’s cultural triangle (approximately 4–5 hours). Visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its golden murals and Buddha statues. Continue to Sigiriya and check into your eco-lodge. In the evening, climb Pidurangala Rock to watch the sunset over the Sigiriya Fortress. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 03: Sigiriya / Hiriwadunna Village / Polonnaruwa

Rise before dawn for a sunrise climb to the Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress, one of Asia’s most iconic archaeological marvels. Later, head to Hiriwadunna Village for a rural experience that includes a bullock cart ride, catamaran crossing, and home-cooked village lunch. In the afternoon, explore the medieval city of Polonnaruwa with its ancient shrines, royal baths, and moonstones. Overnight stay in Polonnaruwa.

Day 04: Polonnaruwa / Nalanda Gedige / Kandy

Travel toward Kandy, pausing at Matale to stroll through aromatic spice gardens and learn about Ayurvedic traditions. En route, visit Nalanda Gedige, a rare temple blending Hindu and Buddhist influences. Continue to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s last royal capital, and enjoy a vibrant cultural dance performance in the evening. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 05: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

Begin your day with a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist shrine. Then ascend into the hill country on a scenic drive or optional train ride (4–5 hours) through emerald tea plantations and misty valleys. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, unwind with a colonial-style high tea and a lakeside walk by Gregory Lake. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 06: Nuwara Eliya / Pinnawela / Colombo Departure

Journey back to Colombo (5–6 hours), stopping at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage to observe rescued elephants in their riverside habitat. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy brief shopping or a short city highlights tour in Colombo. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
